We decided to tell the kids over dinner that their lives would be changing dramatically. We'd be moving to a new state, live in a new home, make new friends and take new classes.
Mom and Dad: Quinn and Maisie, would you like to live in Michigan?
Quinn: Yeah.
Mom and Dad: We're moving there soon and we're going to live in a place called Grand Rapids.
Quinn: Can we live at NanaB's house?
Mom and Dad: No, we're going to live in our own new home.
Quinn: Can we live at Grandma's house?
Mom and Dad: That would be fun, but we're going to live in our own home in Michigan.
Quinn: Ok. Can I have more applesauce?
Huh. Well, that was easy....for now. :)
We imagine that if Kayla could speak, she'd be saying...."Really? Another location with snowy winters??" Our poor doggie princess thinks she was made for southern living. Sorry, pup!

This is GREAT NEWS!
Grandma K says.......Life takes you where you are meant to be. Welcome home.
Like I told you on the phone, my first thought when I heard the news was purely selfish -- "now they're less than 10 hours away by car!" We couldn't be happier and can't wait to explore a new community when we come to visit you.
We definitely feel like we're coming home. You may leave Michigan, but Michigan never really leaves you. And, Niki...you can count on some "Mama Truck" visits from us. :)
