The Great Minnesota Blizzard of 2010

After 6.5 years here, I guess it was time for us to live through a blizzard. The stats: 17 inches here at our house - 20 at the airport, in a 19 hour period. 35 mph winds and now today, -6 this morning on our trip to Target. High of 4. The 5th largest Blizzard in recorded Minnesota history and finally rivals the "Great Halloween Blizzard of '91" that we have heard about since we moved here.

Here are a few things we learned about getting through the blizzard:
1. Buy your beer the night before the storm.
2. Blizzards are a good excuse to try something new, like Rice Cereal!
3. Stay inside and snuggle.
4. And yes Grandpa Taylor -those sticks on fire hydrants are necessary. (when they visited this summer, GPT saw the stick and joked "Do you ever get snow that high here?" Well - Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Clause. See pick # 4.
